"The Light Shone On Me"

Music: dog howling in neighbor's backyard
hat started as my latest blog post became much too long to inflict on my friends' "Friend" pages. Almost 6000 words. So I only put it up here: "The Light Shone on Me"

Note, much later: Since the laughingsquid.net team of incompetents destroyed my website, the essay is only available through archive.org: http://web.archive.org/web/20090201173414/http://mikeycosm.org/lightshoneonme.html

I read this earlier today

And it made me sad. It made me wonder how much I could lose to my own petulance.

P.S.: OTOH, the "You don't know what it's like," song is not a very generous sentiment towards your ex-gf.

Ah, despite what I said earlier about writing only out of compulsion, I'm glad you read it, this one is very personal to me. ::hug back:: Thanks.

I noticed that my two favorite (and in my own subjective opinion, best) writings revolve around a loss. Somewhere along the way I learned to channel grief into productivity. My last few months have had a lot of emotional turbulence (believe me, you're happy I don't use my LJ for recording my day-to-day life like most people) which has translated into quite a bit of writing that I'm happy with and noticeable improvement in my guitar playing.

As to making you sad and questioning your own petulance, I'd say you should just be sure to appreciate what you have, but I think you already do.

And you're right, I actually sort of wished that that song had slightly better lyrics, but what are you gonna do do. Close enough for my purposes. :-)

How can I paradoxically write that I'm speechless?

You can't. And you haven't.
